Time to start teasing a little bit…! I have been working on Voyage over the past two semesters. The initial semester was to propose the project for my senior thesis to get a BFA in illustration from PNCA. This semester is the semester where I make the thing and defend my work upon completion in front of a room of the public, a panel, and my peers. Hopefully in the process I graduate and make a 20-25 page paper too! That would be great! Anyways. Voyage is a visual essay about the journey of Voyager 1 into the Interstellar Medium. It is also a story about wonder, knowledge, loneliness, distance, sacrifice, and hope. I have two more chapters to complete…the ones that I have been the most excited to make since the very beginning. Once they are done (along with lots of formatting) I will be sending the book to Publication Studios, here in Portland, to print. In four weeks I will be defending the work - it is going to be here before I ever know it! Post thesis I will post images from the book and begin to devise a plan to continue the series and expand upon its themes/contents. I want to come up with a more economical way for people to access the material and be able to share it with the ones they love. In the meantime, there will be books available for purchase and promotional prints that are also a part of the finished book. This is all a little jumbled now (I am so sleepy) but there will be a much more official post in the coming weeks.
